About: Koehler-Ruprecht's highest priority is preserving  tradition and great quality. Established in 1920 they are one of the oldest, most distinctive wineries in the Palatinate region. Their wines are pressed using only the finest hand-selected grapes, which undergo spontaneous fermentation in wooden barrels. Their motto, “Wine is the poetry of the earth,” (Mario Soldati, 1907-1999) sums up our philosophy. When it comes to wine production, the most important thing is the quality that ends up in the glass! Their standard creates wines with a perfect balance of strength, elegance and longevity, and many of our wines have garnered attention throughout the world. Successful development was initiated by Bernd Philippi. He is often able to create wines with amazingly long shelf lives, especially Rieslings, which can sometimes come across as a bit headstrong in their younger days. But over time they undergo an interesting development that is valued by many experts.

Alcohol is moderate coming in at a cool 12.5% abv.  No irregation.  No fertilizer.  No herbicides.  No chaptalization.  Up to five pickings all by hand.  Spontaneous fermentation.  Aging in traditional neutral barrels of 600, 1,200 and 2,400 liters. That's it!

On the palate you can feel the weight of the natural ripeness coming from these high acid pinot blanc grapes.  Think white flowers and stone fruit of white peach, nectarine, yellow plumes with brightness that makes your mouth water.  Be for warned this wine is highly addictive and honestly should come with a disclaimer it's really that good!
