Pairing Ideas:  You can enjoy this special bottle with fish, poultry, pasta or yes with richer red meats.  I'd invite you to explore the versatility of these limited production wines.  Our favorite wines in all of Germany, KR's Chardonnay Trocken comes from the Annaberg site, which is rich with sandstone and chalk, yielding a mineral-driven Chablis-like wine, with all the linear, tense, nervy beauty you expect from great German whites.  In addition to being one of our favorites, it's also developed a huge following with our customers.

Koehler-Ruprecht's highest priority is preserving  tradition and great quality. Established in 1920 they are one of the oldest, most distinctive wineries in the Palatinate region. Their wines are pressed using only the finest hand-selected grapes, which undergo spontaneous fermentation in wooden barrels. Their motto, “Wine is the poetry of the earth,” (Mario Soldati, 1907-1999) sums up our philosophy. When it comes to wine production, the most important thing is the quality that ends up in the glass! Their standard creates wines with a perfect balance of strength, elegance and longevity, and many of our wines have garnered attention throughout the world. Successful development was initiated by Bernd Philippi. He is often able to create wines with amazingly long shelf lives, especially Rieslings, which can sometimes come across as a bit headstrong in their younger days. But over time they undergo an interesting development that is valued by many experts.
