OUR STORY

Kelly Ford Lau is the founder of KellySOMM, Nevada's first e-commerce wine store, established in 2020 in Las Vegas. She was invited by the Austrian and Italian governments to promote regional development in the United States. A graduate of UNLV's Hotel College, she was recognized as one of Wine & Spirits magazine's "Best New Sommeliers of 2010."

In addition to her work at KellySOMM, she is employed at Provi, where her expertise in SaaS and e-commerce helps connect the American B2B beverage industry. KellySOMM specializes in delivering high-quality, low-intervention, and natural wines through a curated subscription service and bottle shop.

During her time as lead sommelier, she collaborated with notable chef-driven venues such as Todd English's Olives at Bellagio, Delmonico by Emeril Lagasse, Postrio by Wolfgang Puck, Otto by Mario Batali, Bardot Brasserie by Michael Mina, and both é and Bazaar Meat by José Andrés. Before launching her company, she had a successful career in wholesale at Breakthru Beverage, where she sold to enterprise accounts and managed the Nevada supplier channel market for Constellation and Kobrand.

Last year, she taught a "Wines of the World" course at UNLV and is currently teaching at the Culinary Institute of America's School of Graduate and Professional Studies, reflecting on her 20-year journey in the wine industry. Alongside her husband, Kinson Lau, who is also a veteran in food and beverage and an excellent home cook, she hopes to pass down their passion for experiencing and appreciating different cultures to their young son, Lucas.
